When the fluid flows through the gate valve, its direction does not change. When the gate valve is half open, the valve core is prone to vibration. Therefore, the gate valve is suitable for fully open or fully closed situations and is not suitable for applications where flow regulation is required. There are two types of gate valve handles: open stem and concealed stem.

Gate valves have excellent sealing performance, so they are often used in pipelines that require strict sealing and do not need to be frequently opened and closed to cut off the flowing medium. Gate valves cannot be used for regulating flow. Additionally, due to their slow opening and closing speed, they are not suitable for pipelines that require emergency shut-off.
